(11/2021) From a parcel located mid-slope on the northern side of Pommard, just above the "Grands Epenots" 1er Cru vineyard, this is a showstopper! Crafted using 60% whole cluster fermentation, it was aged in 15% new oak with the other barrels ranging from one to four years of age. Lively cherry, tea, and herbal notes preside over SERIOUS structure. Lots of chalky minerality and fresh acidity. With aeration, bright cassis and spiced black cherry join in along with rich smoke and calcaire notes on the nose, lotes of savory brown herbs and forest floor. Brilliantly compact on the palate, it is a very deep and complex wine. The finish is clean, direct and long. This can age 15 to 25 years without worry.
