(9/2022) Laroche's holdings in the Vaudevay cru are on a very steep section of this distinctive site, including some vines on a 50% gradient. Harvesting grapes at such an angle is not only challenging, it is dangerous! With a few swirls, this youthful Chablis gives off flavors of chalk, lime, green apple, Anjou pear, sea salt, conifer and jasmine. Medium-full on the palate, the mineral theme is confidently driven to the fore, leaving the drinker no doubt that, yes, this is a great Chablis. Finishing long with mouthwatering acidity, it is a wine to serve with soups, pesto pasta, meaty fish courses and chicken with mushrooms.
