(11/3/2021) "Another wine that just oozes Provencal charm and character is the 2019 Chateauneuf Du Pape Lucile Avril, a blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvedre brought up in concrete tanks. This cuvee comes all from the Farguerol lieu-dit, in the northwestern edge of the appellation, and offers a ripe, sexy perfume of blackberries, chocolate, crushed stone, and ground pepper. Perfectly ripe and full-bodied, with silky tannins and remarkable purity of fruit, don't miss it."

(5/5/2022) "Darker, more concentrated and tannic than the regular cuvee, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Lucile Avril delivers intense notes of black cherries and celery seed. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, it concludes with a long, mouthwatering finish. It's mainly old-vine Grenache (80%), with about 10% each Mourvedre and Syrah. Drink Date: 2025 - 2035."
